We’ve recently launched a beta version of Empirical Finance Data™, which is a direct complement of the Empirical Finance Blog™.
The site is 100% free.
http://data.empiricalfinancellc.com/
The site is intended to accomplish a few goals:
- Demystify quantitative long/short.
- In our mind, the only reason many fund managers can pitch overpriced products to investors, is due to a serious information asymmetry problem. We are here to shakes things up a bit.
- Currently, the only way to access quantitative long/short equity is via expensive private placement vehicles (e.g., hedge funds), expensive mutual funds, and expensive managed accounts. The key theme across all these vehicles is the following theme, “EXPENSIVE.”
- Allow “hands-on” investors an opportunity to build straight forward quantitative portfolios using high-quality data via our basic screening tools.

- Serve as a “Quantitative Sanity Check” for bottoms-up value investors. We provide a tool that allow an investor to simultaneously see what the various quantitative models have to say about their investment (Symbol Lookup).

- Highlight Empirical Finance, LLC capabilities and services.
- We provide solutions for firms and individuals who seek objective quantitative answers. See Consulting Services.
- We create customized, low-cost, “passive” quantitative investment managed account products suited for family-offices, High-Net-Worth individuals, and other institutional investors. See Investment Management Services.
- In addition, we provide specialized investment products to qualified investors. See Investment Management Services.
Empirical Finance Data™ is currently in a “beta” format, but we plan to build out the site in the near future. If you have thoughts/comments on features that need to be added, please let us know.
